Desk telephones for IP phone systems, supplied and installed in Brunei by HiFOCUS Solutions. These are the handsets that sit on each desk and connect to your PBX over the office network rather than through separate telephone cabling.

Choosing a handset comes down to what staff actually do with the phone. A reception or sales desk handling several calls at once benefits from a colour display, more line keys and a wider conference capacity. A workshop, store room or spare office needs something simpler and less costly. Most sites end up mixing the two rather than fitting the same phone everywhere.

Two practical points are worth checking before you decide. Handsets with Power over Ethernet draw power from a network switch, so no mains socket is needed at the desk; without it, every phone needs an adapter and an outlet. And most desk phones pass the network through to the computer beside them, so a phone limited to 100 Mbps will slow a PC that would otherwise run at gigabit speed.
